Common mental health misconceptions:

  1. I will be alright without my medication for just a few days.
  2. What is the point of taking my medication if I'm still crazy after I take the pills?
  3. I can take Herbalife, Amway, or Forever Living Products supplements instead of my medication.
  4. I should only take my medication when I am unwell.
  5. I should only take my medication when I am in the hospital.
  6. My friends do not take medication. Why should I take it?
  7. Banging my head will help clear my mind of crazy thoughts.
  8. I do not need friends or go to social groups. I am fine by myself.
  9. I do not need to work or volunteer because of my mental illness.
